Technical Principles & Advantages

Principle of Shot Peening:

The shot peening process involves bombarding the workpiece surface with high-hardness, high-velocity media to induce localized plastic deformation. This deformation generates a microstructurally strain-hardened layer and a layer of compressive residual stress on the surface. Consequently, it enhances the part’s fatigue strength, stress corrosion resistance, resistance to crack propagation, and wear/fretting resistance, significantly extending component service life.

-01

Enhanced Fatigue & Stress Corrosion Resistance:
Substantially improves the fatigue strength and stress corrosion resistance of mechanical parts and structural components.

-02

Simplified Process:
Requires only a single processing step, making it straightforward and efficient compared to other surface treatment methods.

-03

Surface Texture Modification:
Alters surface roughness, imparting a uniform matte finish.

-04

Subsurface Reinforcement:
Introduces a profound compressive residual stress layer in the surface and subsurface regions, effectively strengthening the entire component surface.

-05

Microstructural Refinement:
Induces surface plastic deformation, transforming retained austenite into martensite, refining the grain structure, and forming a strain-hardened layer.

-06

Corrosion Inhibition
Converts surface residual tensile stresses into beneficial compressive stresses, effectively suppressing crack propagation and significantly boosting stress corrosion resistance.
